Norma M. Baker Fobian, 76, passed away on July 10, 2023 in Waterloo, IA. 

Norma Mae Baker Fobian was born September 12, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Jack and Margaret (Cavanaugh) Leonard. Jack passed away prior to Norma’s birth. Her mother Margaret then married Edwin A. Andorf January 12, 1949 in Hudson, Iowa.

Norma attended the Hudson Community Schools. She then was united in marriage to Larry Baker in 1963. To this union God blessed them with two sons, Jeffrey and Thomas and one daughter, LeeAnn. The couple were later divorced. In 1997 Norma married Arnold Fobian on July 4th, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had a happy life together traveling, doing flea markets and living in Florida.

Norma had a very strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and loved spending time with family and friends. She had an air of happiness that was shared wherever she went. She also had an aura of positivity, an infectious smile and laugh that brightened every room. Norma was loved by so many.

Those left to cherish Norma’s memory are her two sons; Jeffrey (Lori) Baker of Spencer, Wisconsin and Thomas Baker of Waterloo, Iowa two step-children Arnold Fobian Jr and Tami Fobian of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her two sisters Cindy (Tony) Young and Carol Weaver of Hudson, Iowa. Her two brothers Dave (Cindy) Andorf of Des Moines, Iowa and Rick (Kelly) Andorf of Hudson, Iowa. Norma also has five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by her closest friends Barbara Laue, Claudia Friis, Rita Schmitz and Julie Carey plus her high school friends from the class of 1964 and her significant other Stan Buhrmaster.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Larry Baker and Arnold Fobian, a daughter LeeAnn Baker (stillborn), her mother Margaret, fathers Jack Leonard and Edwin Andorf, grandparents Norma Mae Leonard, Mary and Chris Cavanaugh and Fred and Mary Andorf.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be made to Lung Cancer Research, St Judes Children Hospital or to the family.
