Susan K. Jacobsen-Gaunt

Susan K. Jacobsen-Gaunt, 63, of Maysville, formerly of Oxford Junction, passed away on January 11, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 6, 1959 to Dale and Lois (Leeper) Lietz in Jones County, Iowa.  Susan was united in marriage to John Jacobsen on December 6, 1991 in Oxford Junction.  John passed away in 2016.

Susan worked at Wabash Transformer Company in Clarence for many years and worked at Crestridge Care Center in Maquoketa as a CNA.  She loved helping others, but most importantly loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter, Holly Susan.  She enjoyed working on crosswords, fishing, and camping.  She will forever be remembered for her caring nature and her willingness to lend someone a helping hand.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Holly (Chris Wright) Palmer of Walcott; her husband in faith, Robert Gaunt; grandchildren, Jayson Jones and Logan (Shaya) Jones both of Calamus; Phoenix (Corey) Dyer of Davenport; and Luke Husman of Walcott; great grandchildren, Asher and Brookelyn Dyer of Davenport and Annabella Jones of Calamus.  Also surviving were many “adopted” children that called her mom.  They were Tony Haring of Delmar, Samantha Howard of Davenport and Andrew Moore and many others.  Susan will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, John; her daughter, Jessica Clark; granddaughters, Esther and Summer Wright.

A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice for all the love and care they showed Susan and her family during this difficult time.
