Carl W. Baker
Carl Baker, 92, of Des Moines, IA, and Aurora, Illinois, passed away on January 24, 2023.
Carl was a veteran who served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War, with service in Japan. After his service, Carl completed a 30-year career with Illinois Bell/AT&T. Carl was a dedicated sports enthusiast who especially enjoyed playing golf, fishing and camping. Beyond sports, Carl enjoyed playing bridge, volunteering with Kiwanis Golden K, traveling overseas, and participating in church mission trips.
Carl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Annetta (Clemmons) Baker, his daughter Janet (John) Landry, his son Joseph (Jodi) Baker, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial will be held on February 25, 2023, from 9:30-11:30am, with Eulogy at 10am, in the Health Center Chapel at Valley View Village in Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, please honor Carl with a memorial gift to a local Golden Kiwanis organization or church mission.
