Laura Lee Luck
Laura Lee Luck, 86, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Sunday, February 26th, 2023, at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Per Laura’s request there will be no public services. The family will hold a private gathering at a later date.
Laura was born July 1st, 1936, in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Ella (King) Stone. She began her career as a salesclerk at Younkers before transitioning to become a bridal consultant at Celebrations and David’s Bridal. Laura lived most of her life in Iowa and Virginia. She was a loving mother to seven children: Theresa, Michael, Mary, Angie, Kathy, John and Tim.
Laura loved cooking, bowling and playing cards. She especially loved fashion, shopping and had an extensive collection of purses. Laura loved spending time with her family and her pets.
Those left to cherish her memory are children; Theresa Moore, Michael (Denise) Gaeta, Mary (Gary) Little, Angie Carroll, Kathy Gaeta, John (Sarah) Gaeta and Tim Gaeta, grandchildren; Edward, Jamee, Nicole and Justin, Joshua, Jeremy and Emily, Christina and Nicholas, Hannah and Nathan, Ryan and Isabella, Dion as well as fourteen great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Binx. Her sister Darlene Bryant of Virginia.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ella, her brother Richard “Dean” Stone and grandson Brian Gaeta.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations can be made to Oldorf Hospice House.
