Frank Eugene Erickson
Frank Eugene Erickson, 78, of Des Moines, was taken to be with our Lord Jesus Christ Friday, February 10 at his home in Des Moines.
He was born November 23, 1944, in West Des Moines, Iowa. The son of Leonard and Phoebe (VanCleve) Erickson. Frank and his wife Karen shared 31 years together. They were married nearly 29 years.
Frank was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 33 for 55 years, He was also a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters. He was a proud member of High Pointe Church Altoona . He enjoyed dancing with Karen, attending church, camping, photography, woodworking, all sports, playing bass guitar, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Erickson; six children, Stacey (Darrin) Hager of Winterset, Shawnnae Jones of Altoona, Katina (Chad) Conner of Clarksville, Tennessee, Jamie (Stacy) Olcott of Wabasha, Minnesota, Chad (Tina) Erickson of West Des Moines, and Sean Erickson of Arizona; 17 grandchildren, Heidi (Jeremiah), Adam, Linc (Kara), Gabi (Zane), Maylene, Katie, Kaylene (Blake), Caleb (Haylie), Emma, Owen, Ila, and Mackenzie; 9 great-grandchildren, Grace, Annie, Margaret, Nate, Kade, Kali, Kason, Cameron, and Paisley; 3 siblings, Walt (Bev) Erickson of Altoona, Lee Erickson of Des Moines, Phoebe Parsons of Des Moines, and his faithful, furry companion Roxie.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Phoebe Erickson; a sister, Shirley Wood; a brother, Ernest Erickson, and a son-in-law, Kelly Jones.
The primary thing Frank would want to be remembered for is his faith in Jesus Christ.
His children and grandchildren will also remember him as their hero, “who could do and fix anything.”
Celebration of life will be Saturday, March 4th, 2023, 2pm in the afternoon at:
Fellowship Community Church, 225 North Ave. , Norwalk, Iowa
