Thomas Lyle Berry

Thomas (Tom) Lyle Berry, 68, of Montezuma, Iowa died in his home on December 27, 2023. He was born in Grinnell, Iowa to Lyle and Betty Berry and grew up and lived his whole life on Lake Ponderosa. He graduated from Montezuma High school in 1974 and went on to work at Donaldson Company in Grinnell, Iowa until it closed in 2014. 


Tom was a fun and outgoing guy who enjoyed music; playing the bass guitar, guitar, harmonica and singing.  He even starred in a local band called ‘The Montage’ and continued practicing and playing for fun throughout his life. Tom also enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles, and his grandchildren. He loved to make people laugh and was always the life of the party.


Tom was preceded in death by his father (Lyle Berry), his mother (Betty Berry), his sister (Janet Berry), and his sister-in-law (Cheryl Berry) and brother-in-law (Don Baker). 


Tom is survived by his son Travis (Amy) Johannes of Montezuma, his daughter Jessica (Ed) Gullion of Knoxville, his sister Ellen (Mark) Van Der Veer of Montezuma, and his brother (Don) of Montezuma. He will be forever cherished by his grandchildren Cheyenne, Madison, Makenna (Johannes), Bailey and Taylor (Gullion). 


A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
