Ronald Reyman

Ronald Reyman, of Swisher, Iowa, passed away December 3, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 8, 1946, in Swisher, Iowa, Ron was raised alongside three brothers (Russ, Randy and Ryan) by Arlene and Leonard Reyman. He and Jan were married May 10, 1985.

His involvement in 4-H Monroe Huskers, where he won Grand Champion in 1961, supported his family’s generational achievements in agriculture. Before finishing his degree at Iowa State University, Ron elected to serve his country and enlisted in the US Air Force in 1966 through 1970 where he served in Guam during the Vietnam era, rising to the rank of Sergeant; followed with service in the Reserves.

Ron’s professional career as an engineer concluded when retiring from Inpro at Rock Island, IL in 2014. While enjoying time with Jan and their cats, he continued countless home projects and enjoyed hobbies and family. His natural intelligence and refusal to leave a problem unsolved made him a natural go-to person for all. Ron was a lifetime member of the NRA and a skilled marksman.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Jan(ice) (McGowan) Reyman, daughters Michelle (Jim O'Brien) Nelson and Diane (Chris) Biellier and adopted son Brian (Rochelle) Holt. He enjoyed his five grandchildren: Alexandria, Eddie, Caleb, Quentin and Carter and his great-grandchildren Beckett, Fynlee and Leo.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Arlene Reyman.

Ron’s family would like to thank the University of Iowa Hospice and Oncology Department, and especially Dr. Samantha Isaac at Atkins Family Medical Clinic.

There will be no visitation or memorial service in honor of his wishes.
