Melvin D. Crawford, age 73, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023, surrounded by his wife and children after a brief illness at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Melvin was born December 17, 1949, in Washington, Iowa and grew up in the surrounding area. Melvin graduated from Washington High School and pursued a lifelong career proudly making custom carpentry pieces.
Melvin has two children from his first marriage, Larry and Autumn. Melvin was later married to Carolyn, on September 8, 1990, in Thompson Falls, Montana. Together they share four children Rachel, Emma, Luke, and Gretchen Crawford.
Melvin enjoyed fishing and sharing quality time with his family and friends.
Melvin is preceded in death by his father Lyle and mother Francis (Amlong), brothers George, David, and Terry Crawford, and sisters Bonnie Krogman and Connie Bringer. Sisters Thea Walton, Corliss Donovan, and Lyla Erwin survive him.
