John Paul Fiala, 52, of Marion, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. John was born in Iowa City, the son of Sharon and Paul Fiala on December 28, 1970. He grew up in the Cedar Rapids area and graduated from Washington High School in 1989. He also attended Kirkwood Community College. His first marriage to Sabra gave John his two children, Gabriel and Tyler. Many years later, he was able to acknowledge his second daughter, Faith.

In 2015, he met the love of his life, Jessica and they were married in 2022. He welcomed into his family her daughters, Hailey and Hannah.

He spent his career as a finish carpenter. He volunteered as a rescue diver. He was happiest on the water and enjoyed spending as much time as possible on his boat with his boating family. In the winter months, he enjoyed seeing the snow flocked trees while snowboarding.
