Earlene Zada Book, age 85, died December 25, 2023, at Sunrise Terrace Nursing Facility in Winfield, Iowa. 

She was born January 6, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Earl and Olive Joan Elliott. Her parents both passed away while she was a child, and she was adopted and raised by her Grandparents Soloman and Treva Allen. She attended various schools and graduated in 1955 from Pekin High School. 

On July 6, 1958, she married Harold Molkenthin. They shared nearly 50 years together farming, attending church activities, traveling, and enjoying her love for playing the piano. After the passing of Harold on January 28, 2008, she later married Warren “Kay” Book on September 18, 2010. He passed away January 19, 2021. 

She attended Indian Hills Community College and graduated in 1979 with a Degree in Nursing becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked at various Hospitals, Nursing Facilities, and a Headstart Preschool throughout her nursing career. She was also a member of Faith Christian Outreach Center Church in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

She was a notable pianist playing her entire life at various churches, weddings, funerals, and multiple singing groups and bands. 

She is survived by her four children, Kevin (Vickie) Molkenthin, Karla (Rick) Utterback, Kathy (Steve) Coon, and Keith (Patricia) Molkenthin, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and husbands Harold and Warren.
