Merlyn L. Timm

Merlyn L. Timm, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 14, 2023. He passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Oklahoma.

Merlyn was born on May 27, 1935, in Calamus, Iowa; the son of Lester and Bertha (Wiedenhoff) Timm. Merlyn married the love of his life, Helen Dotseth on March 2, 1957, in Bennett, Iowa. The couple spent 66 lovely years together. The family enjoyed farming in and around Lowden, IA. In 1972, Merlyn and Helen moved to Olin, IA where he drove semi. In 1986 they moved to Tipton, IA where he continued driving semi. Merlyn finally retired in 2010. Merlyn and Helen spent time at their home in Tipton, IA, where they would try and visit family as often as they could.

Merlyn is survived by his wife, Helen. Their children; Marilyn (Doug) Hintz of Floral City, FL, Pat (Rex) Rohwedder of Olin, IA, Lee (Lisa) Timm of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kurt (Kerri) Timm of Buffalo, MN, and Christine (Todd) Griebel of Coweta, OK. Grandchildren; Joshua Chamberlin, Jenny Kerr, Machelle Haessler, Jeremy Chamberlin, Jeff Hintz, Amy Moore, Michael Griebel, Halle Timm, Matthew Griebel, Mason Griebel, and Macie Timm. Numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Merlyn was proceeded in death by his parents, Lester and Bertha Timm, brother Darrell Timm, and daughter-in-law Kathy Timm.

A celebration of Merlyn’s life will be held Saturday, August 26 at the Tipton VFW in Tipton, IA from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Family and Friends are welcome to attend.
