Angela Marie Caldwell

Angela Marie (Krizan) Caldwell, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023. Angela was born in Gordon, NE to Anton and Anna (Cahoy) Krizan on August 15, 1931. The middle child and only daughter, she was raised in Fredericksburg, IA with her 4 brothers. Angie attended Braircliff College and then earned her teaching degree at Marycrest College. She was a 6th grade teacher at Walcott Elementary for over 20 years and developed life-long friendships with several of her students.

Angie entered into marriage with Bill Caldwell on April 21, 1959, and from that union they had one daughter, Linda. Together they enjoyed hosting friends and family, playing a good game of cards, and traveling. Angie loved her family and spending time with them, particularly with her daughter, granddaughters, and great-granddaughter. She will be remembered for her famous back rubs.

Angie was an amazing woman and a role model to all. She was generous with her time and resources to anyone who needed it, sharing love with everyone she encountered and positivity to those in need. She leaves behind an amazing legacy of love.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda (Larry) Walderbach; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Callie Raine; great-granddaughter, Zari (her Zarina) Raine; brothers, Ivan (Mary) Krizan and Bernard (Sharon) Krizan; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Anton and Anna; brothers, Anton and Edward Krizan; and sister-in-law, Violet Krizan.

Angie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone at St Croix Hospice and Keystone Cedars for their wonderful love and care. She loved you all and felt blessed to have you in her life.
