Harold John Sealman

Harold John Sealman, 84, of Wellsburg, Iowa passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.

Harold was born January 28, 1939, in Grundy Center, Iowa; the son of John Jacob Sealman and Gertrude Mae (Walters) Sealman. Harold attended elementary and high school in Grundy Center, Iowa.  He joined the Air Force in 1961 and served his County for four years before retiring from the military in 1965. He retired from Boeing in Washington State and returned to Iowa to make Grundy County his home. 

Harold loved to fish, hunt, beekeeping, flowers, and gardening. He was always planting something to watch it grow. He was proud to be a veteran and was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years. He was also the current Chef de Gare of Voiture 171 of the 40 & 8. 

Harold is survived by his partner and love, Ann Palmer, of Wellsburg, Iowa, his children; Susan Paulson (Keith) of Auburn, Washington, Cynthia Tobin (David) of Benton City, Washington, Tammy Branom (Jonny) of Liberty Lake, Washington, and Marvin Sealman of Woodenville, Washington, brother; Paul Sealman (Martha) of Grundy Center, Iowa, and his beloved Brittany Heidi. He had 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Sealman, brothers; Walt, Hank, Wilbur, and Ray Sealman.

A graveside service will be held, Wednesday, May 3, at 3:00 P.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, Iowa. Military Honors following the service.
