David Loftsgard
David (Trickle) Ellis Loftsgard, 63, of Clermont, IA passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his home following an illness.
Dave was born July 13, 1959 in Postville, Iowa, to Ronald and Judith (Nims) Loftsgard. He graduated from Valley High in 1978. While in high school Dave excelled in baseball, football, and track. He took that love of sports and played many years on various mens’ league softball teams. After high school, Dave was employed as local and cross country truck driver for Schneider Trucking and Johanningmeier Trucking for several years. Most recently, Dave worked for Niemann Quarries as a rock crusher. When not working, Dave enjoyed mowing lawn, tinkering in the garage, drawing, and spending time with family and many friends.
Dave is survived by parents Ronald and Judith; sons Mike (Meca) Loftsgard, Shawn Lau, and Nick (Taylor) Robinson and daughters Kaylee Lau and Morgan Robinson; grandchildren, Josi, Zayla, Hayden, Emery, Waylin, Ramey, Brooks, Brewer, and Dansby; great-grandson, Elijah; brother, Drew (Kristin) Loftsgard; nephew Timothy; nieces Ashley, Abbey, and Cassidi. Dave is preceded in death by sister Debra Loftsgard and his grandparents.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, Iowa. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM with service following at 1:00 PM.
