Linda Faye Murphy

Linda Faye Murphy, 75, of Lime Springs, IA, passed from her earthly life and went to her heavenly home Friday September 30, 2022.

Linda was born October 31, 1946, to Olaf and Jean (Terbeest) Borgan.  She graduated from Crestwood High School.  On May 1, 1970, Linda married the love of her life, Raymond Murphy.  They celebrated 52 years of marriage.  Thomas, Danial, and William, made their family complete.

Linda’s church life began at Saetersdal Lutheran Church then she became a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran when she married Ray.  She was also a Jaycette.

Linda was a hard worker and had various jobs, including working at St. Marys, Evans, meat lockers, Ostrander Nursing home, Lime Springs Travel Plaza, cleaning homes, and several other odd and end jobs that she’d take on.  Raising her boys was her greatest joy.

Her hobbies were walking, biking, camping, and of course, being with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed her garden and looking for wildflowers along country roads. Halloween was especially a favorite of hers.  Linda enjoyed having the kids trick or treat at her house and was happy to celebrate her birthday in that way.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ray; sons Tom (Becky), Dan (Karla), and Bill (Amy); grandchildren Shelbi (Tyler), Britny, Cody (Shona), Gavin, Blake, Carson and Aiden; great grandchildren Lillian and Kendra; step great grandchildren Elijah and Clayton; sister Betty Lightle, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Edward Mundfrom, brother Duane Borgan, sister Marcia Murray, and brother in laws Hal Lightle and Gary Murray.

Visitation will be Saturday October 15 from 10-12 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  The family will hold a private Celebration of Life later that day.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
