Leroy Edward Powelka

I send my heartfelt sympathies to his whole family. He was a gentle giant in my opinion and when he married Ginny, my first cousin, I was there. He and Ginny were very close to all the Wilcox clan. He was kind, polite and full of stories on many topics which were always interesting and helpful. His precast installation at our home in Dbq was very well done and we got to have lunch with him on those installation days!! We met once in a while here in Dbq when they were coming this way and always enjoyed these times. I will miss getting the Christmas card/photo, then I knew he was OK and in good hands where they went to live to have extra care. Hope and Mel have done many things to see that was done. The rest of their family was there for them too. His sister Dorothy Chesney has just joined him in the great beyond and I send sympathy to the family for her too. Many thoughts are with you now and I will join you for the Celebration on 11/5 in Maquoketa. Love, Ann

I am so sorry to hear of Leroy's passing. I worked at the Maquoketa Nursery and under Leroy's supervision learned a lot about plants. He was a kind and loving individual. My condolences to his whole family.
