Scott R. Phillips
Scott R. Phillips went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, October 8, 2022 at his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Scott was born in Cedar Rapids on October 20, 1951 to Richard and Luanne Phillips. Scott married Judie S. Slaton on December 1, 1973 in Cedar Rapids. Scott served on the Cedar Rapids police department for 35 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible for over 50 years, serving on the board of elders for 35 years.
Scott is survived by the love of his life, Judie; two children Eric (Stephanie) Phillips of Solon, Iowa; Thad (Erin) Phillips of West Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Noah, Sophia Grace, Isaac, Quinlin, Emmett, Rylee and Olivia; many nieces and nephews; his mother Luanne Phillips and his brother Dr. Nicholas (Carol) Phillips of Livonia, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Phillips.
Special thanks is extended to Dr. Mohammed and his staff at the University of Iowa and Mercy Hospice of Cedar Rapids.
Visitation will be at the First Church of the Open Bible in Cedar Rapids Wednesday October 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM, with the service following at 11:00 AM. Pastor Harris Holsapple will officiate.
