Obituary for Clarence W. Walker

Clarence W. Walker passed away at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on November 18, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born September 24, 1938 to Wayne and Susie (Osborne) Walker. Clarence married the love of his life, Vera Mae Cook, on September 28, 1959.

Clarence worked for the City of Des Moines for 31 years and after retirement, enjoyed wintering in Texas with Vera for more than 20 years, before moving back to Urbandale in the winter of 2018. He enjoyed learning the new technologies of life in his older years.

Clarence was preceded in death by a daughter (Betty Jean), along with his parents, brother Kenneth and brother John. Clarence is survived by his wife, Vera, and their daughters Kathy (Bob) Crouse, Linda (Mark) Foresman, and Brenda (Kevin) Johnson. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Anthony Walker, Stephanie (Crouse) (Kyle) Evans, Cari Johnson, Jared Johnson and Nicholas Kruse, and 5 great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life held on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Cutty's from 2:30 - 5:00 p.m., located at 2500 SE 37th St. Unit A, Grimes, IA.
