Michel Kent Peterson

Mike's wife, Judy Craven, was a high school classmate with my wife (Sandy Nickell) and I. Judy and Sandy also both worked at the Boone County Hospital. We connected in a bond that spanned most of the 18 years Sandy worked at BCH sharing food, fishing (including yearly trips to a fishing resort in Minnesota), and trips to view my farmland. Mike always had a story or three about someone he knew, had sold farm equipment to, or just about every locality we would go to. Every day together was a new adventure to be savored, including trips into Mexico border towns when he and Judy were in Arizona. He had a keen sense of humor, an eagle eye for details, and was the consumant guide who with Judy's assistance never got you lost as you traveled in their company. Mike loved to cook, share a meal and conversation, and end every day looking forward to the next time you got together. Mike knew the value of every dime, loved to negotiate about everything, and always celebrated what he called 'his bargains', which included his family both natural and adopted. And once you were his 'friend' his generosity of spirit poured out as a blessing in your life. Mike will be missed. But I am sure both Judy and Sandy were the first to greet him, with fishing gear in hand, as he crossed over to the forever they all now occupy.
