Larry Lee Marchant

Larry was born on July 28th, 1935, in the small city of Yale located in Guthrie County,Iowa, to his parents Keith and Inez Marchant.

Larry went to school in Yale and worked for his father on the farm. Later, Larry started working for WOODWARD State Hospital where he worked for 46 years. It was when he was working at WOODWARD State Hospital that he met Bev Brock. Bev was 35 years old, and Larry was 39 years old at the time. Neither one was married before they lived on a little farm in Guthrie County until Bev folks passed away and Bev Inherited the farm she grew up on in Madrid. Bev and Larry lived on the farm for about four years when they separated. Larry moved to the trailer court in Madrid and Bev lived on the farm, but they stayed friends for years until they decided to build a house together on the farm.

Larry and Bev both worked on the farm and worked at WOODWARD State Hospital. Larry and Bev had one baby which ended in a miscarriage. They never had any more children. Larry Kept working on the farm with Bev and working at the WOODWARD state hospital.

Larry wasn't much of a farmer because he had enough of farm life when he was growing up and later working with his dad. They built their house about the year 1975 and lived there until Bev passed away in 2013. Then Larry lived alone on the farm until it was sold, and moved to Boone, Iowa where he lived until his death on May 21, 2022.

Larry lived near Jim and Marilyn Welder in Boone where he and Bev have been friends with for years. Larry spent the last seven years in the Eastern star home in Boone.

Larry was preceded in death by his dad and mom, his baby brother that was still born, his sister Lois, brother Gary, and wife Bev.

Larry has left behind a brother-in-law Tom Hamilton, sister-In-law Jan Marchant, nephew Tony Marchant, Daniel Marchant, Christopher Hamilton, and a niece Shawn Hamilton and many cousins and many friends that he had at the Eastern star home for the aged.

Larry will be missed by his friends Jim and Marilyn Welder who watched over Larry and helped him after his wife Bev had died. Jim and Marilyn's kids and their kids were all friends of Larry.

I, Jim Welder, will miss Larry very much. I used to take him for rides in his car that he loved so much. Marilyn and I would try to visit Larry at least once a week. Larry was a very great friend and one you'll always remember. So long Larry! Give Bev and all the people we know in heaven our love. They will all be so happy to see you!

So long, my friend!
