Barbara Jean Brooks
Please know how much I admired Barbara and knew how much she loved all of her family members and her beloved Chicago. No doubt in my mind that she would have done anything in her power to help those she loved. I was privileged to be her friend for four decades or more. Our phone conversations kept us updated about our families and current events. I will miss not having the conversations that helped each other on our journeys. She was a very bright and engaged person. I knew that she was an avid reader, and was very proud that in grade school, her library cards had “checkouts” filling both sides. Together we shared some irreplaceable memories and laughter. My son remembers her “joyous smile” and I see that also. I admired her courage and her ability to weather a storm, and yet remain thankful for all of the blessings she had in her life. Rest In Peace my dear friend.
Our hearts are broken after discovering our dear neighbor has passed. She was such a sweet soul and we enjoyed her company so much. Sending our deepest condolences to her family for what is a great loss.
