Linda Lou Marting

Linda Lou Schutte Marting, 71, of Montour, Iowa passed away on March 13, 2022, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Her family includes two children; Lisa (Doug Wegmann) Kimball of Edgewood, Iowa, and Nicole (Joseph) McCully of Montour, Iowa. Two sisters; Janet (John) Berns of Dubuque, Iowa, Carolyn (Mick) Pierce of Guttenberg, Iowa and a brother-in-law Dean Nightengale of Dundee, Iowa. Seven grand/stepchildren; Lisa (Aaron) Estrada of Marengo, Iowa, Heather Richardson of LeGrand, Iowa, Traci (James) Woods of Plainfield, Iowa, Ashley (Lucas Pfeiler) Kimball of Manchester, Iowa, Dillon Sauerbry of Edgewood, Iowa, Emma (Justin Short) Sauerbry of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Jenna McCully of Waterloo, Iowa. Twelve great grand/step grandchildren; Aaron Jr Estrada, Elena Estrada, Andrew Estrada, Alexander Richardson, Jadyn Richardson, James Jr Woods, Vanessa Woods, Sabrina Woods, Joseph Woods, Mia Woods, Alexa Chopard, and Adeli Chopard. Six nieces and nephews; Tina (Chris) Reinert of Dubuque, Iowa, Julie (Dave Frields) Berns of Davenport, Iowa, Jason (Jill) Pierce of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Joe (Adria) Pierce of Marion, Iowa, Andy Pierce of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Brett (Shelby) Pierce of Tiffin, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold Schutte and Ethel Schutte, a sister Lois Nightengale, and a grandson Aarron Kimball.

Linda was born February 2, 1951, in Farmersburg IA. She graduated from Guttenberg High school in 1969. She was married and later divorced. Linda received her AA degree from Kirkwood Community College and continued her education at The University of Northern Iowa where she received her BA in Social work. She worked in the social work field for many years. She also worked as a telephone operator and a front desk clerk. Linda loved spending time with her family and friends, was an avid animal lover, and researching family history.

Linda was a fun-loving spirit that always shined through. She was loved by many and will be missed by many more.
