Kitty Loo Davis

Kitty Loo Davis/May Wood Loo, 85, of West Branch and Iowa City passed away on March 2, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 1:00- 7:00 PM at Terry Trueblood Lodge (579 McCollister Blvd, Iowa City, Iowa 52240).

Kitty was born on January 25, 1937, in Hong Kong, China to D.M. Loo (father) and K.W. Sy (mother). She married Bobby Copeland Davis (U.S. Air Force MSgt) on February 21, 1961, in Hong Kong. She worked as a stewardess for Qantas Airlines before moving to the U.S. with her husband. She later followed a passion for designing wedding cakes and spent many years volunteering for the Salvation Army where she helped start a soup kitchen and would go to local merchants to get donations of food and money for the homeless. She received the Salvation Army's William Booth Award and the Iowa Governor's Volunteer Award for her many years of service. She also loved to throw house parties and cook her famous Chinese cuisine.

Kitty was a warm, caring, open-hearted person who never judged anyone. She was a bright, shining star that could cheer up anyone who was down. Her bubbly, fun-loving personality will be greatly missed by all.

The family would like to thank Iowa City Hospice and her doctor, Dr. Maurice Champion.

Kitty is survived by her children, Sandra (Paul) McCue of San Francisco, California, Donna (Jordan) Foster Paulsen of West Branch, Iowa; grandchildren, Nola, CJ, Logan; siblings, Eva and Frank.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Bobby Davis, and siblings; Anita (2021) and Ruby (2018).
