Jo Marie Miller McDole

Jo Marie Miller McDole, 58, passed away on March 25, 2022 at the Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha, Iowa, surrounded by family.  A funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McGregor, Iowa; 311 7th St, McGregor, IA 52157 .  Visitation will begin at 10:00am until mass.  Lunch will be provided following mass in the parish hall.  

Jo was born on February 22, 1964, to Harry “Jr” and Marjorie (Laufenberg) Miller in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and raised in McGregor, Iowa.  She graduated from Mar-Mac High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business and history from Mount Mercy University.  She remained in Cedar Rapids working as an operator and call center supervisor where she met and married her husband, Martin McDole, November 6, 1999.  There was nothing more important to Jo than her beloved family and her cats Misty and Daniel.  Her beautiful smile and quick wit will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Martin of Marion; mother, Linda Miller of McGregor; siblings, Mary (Jon) Abel of Cedar Rapids, Kara (Todd) Larson of McGregor, Tim (Andrea) Miller of McGregor; mother-in-law, Brenda McDole of Marion; sister-in-law, Lynne McDole of Marion; nieces and nephews, Karly, Elli, Nick, Spencer, Brayde, Hunter, Mason: great niece and nephew, Ella and Theo. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry “Jr” & Marjorie Miller, maternal and paternal grandparents, and her father-in-law, Lloyd Mcdole.

The family would like to thank the Hiawatha Care Center for the wonderful care that they gave Jo over the last seven years. Your kindness and generosity that was given to Jo and our family will never be forgotten.
