Clark (Ken) Strader, Jr., Age 78, of Guttenberg, IA passed away at the UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
A visitation will be held at the St. John’s Lutheran Church on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 9 AM until service time at 11 AM.
Ken Strader was born on April 21, 1943 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of the late Clark and Mildred (Blough) Strader, Sr. On September 21, 1968, he married the love of his life, Mickie Krieg, in Guttenberg, IA. Ken worked as a Service Rep for John Deere until his retirement. Ken loved woodworking, cars, and just being outside. He enjoyed working on the farm and watching the animals. Ken was a very loving man, known for his wonderful sense of humor.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Mickie of Guttenberg: his children, Todd (Stephanie) of Guttenberg, IA , Scott (Joelle) of Evansdale, IA, Eric (Dawn) Strader of Marion, IA, and Megan Strader of Marion, IA; his grandchildren, Staci, Conor, Mara, Caden, McKinzie, and Evan; brother-in-law, Terry Krieg. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ardythe Hagar, and his brother-in-law, Walter Hager.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
