Mark Robert Hoffmann

Mark Robert Hoffmann passed away peacefully at Unity Point Hospital, Bettendorf surrounded by his family on Thursday July 7, 2022.He was born on February 2, 1961 in Davenport, Iowa. Mark made his home in Long Grove, Iowa with his wife, Liz. They enjoyed many beautiful sunrises & sunsets in the countryside.

His life’s work was construction, and that legacy is evident through many establishments in our community. His hallmark was quality and he worked hard to achieve that goal. He was good to everyone and everyone who knew him recognized that good. Mark’s optimism, sense of humor, kindness and courage throughout his life was inspirational. Both he and Liz depended on his wit and humor to carry them through many of life’s challenges. He inspired many people along the way and generated smiles and laughter as well as respect.

He leaves behind many lifelong friends who loved spending time in the “garage” sharing laughs, stories, sports, and cocktails. If walls could talk!

He is survived by his wife, Liz, children/grandchildren: Jess Hubner, Brady, and Reese; Spencer Ellis (Renee) Calvin and Bella; Collin Ellis (Chelsea) Remi and Mila.

Brothers and sisters: Gary Hoffmann; Mary (Dean) Bender; Betty Carlson; Dave Hoffmann and Joni (Mark) Johnson. Along with his many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mark is welcomed into heaven by his parents, Don, and Carma Hoffmann; his brother-in-law, Marv Carlson; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria Hoffmann and Pat Hoffmann. If there are cocktails in heaven, it’s going to be a party!

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 15,2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge, Iowa. Mark’s cremains will be present.

A time to toast and celebrate Mark’s life will follow at Maloney’s Pub Eldridge, Iowa from 3:00-6:00 PM.
Memorials may be made to the North Scott Athletic Boosters, or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, as Mark had great empathy for the little ones.

Mark will forever be in our hearts.

We will miss you Hoffy...
