Lois Elaine Pape
Lois Elaine Pape, 86, passed away July 29, 2022 at Ken & Deb Is home surrounded by her family and kitties. There will be a visitation August 4th from 4:00 - 7:30 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, West Union. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Lois was born September 14, 1935 to Theodore and Grace (Winter) Alton. Lois attended grade school in Alpha and graduated from North High in 1953. She worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids before moving back to marry Everett Pape on October 26, 1957. Together they raised their sons, Kevin and Kenneth. Lois helped on the farm by feeding calves, washing milking equipment, feeding the hired men and doing book work. She was an excellent cook and was known to double the sugar in a recipe to make it even better. Lois had the best smile and laugh. She loved cats and never met a stray she didn't love. Lois was involved in church by teaching Sunday school, Bible school and attending circle.
Lois is survived by her sons, Kevin and Kenneth (Deb); grandchildren, Michael, Matthew (Maricel), and Molly; great grandsons, Nolan and Brooks. She also is survived by 7 nieces and a nephew.
Preceding Lois in death was her husband, Everett; her parents; her sisters and their husbands, Ruth (Steve) Stevenson and Mary (Buddy) Billmeyer; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter & Iva Pape; one niece and two grand nieces.
