Kathryn Mae Grafton

Kathryn (Kathy) Mae Grafton, beloved mom, grandma, aunt, friend, and so much to many, 80 years young of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the Oldorf Hospice House, with her family present. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.

Kathryn was born on May 11, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of William Richard and Bernice Martha (Mann) Grafton. After high school, she attended Paris Academy and became a beautician in the local area. Kathryn eventually owned her own business, Park Plaza Beauty Shop. She was married to Connie Alfred Peal, and they later divorced. Together, they had four children. Kathryn was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles. 

Survivors include four children, Deb (Leeon) Adams; Renee (Mike) Flack; Donnie (Donna) Peal; all of Cedar Rapids, and Denise (Robert) Nichols of Marion; nineteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and her dog Elvis.

Preceding her in death were her parents, grandson Michael Reed, her siblings, and her dog Rufus.
