Gary Bronemann

Gary (Cockeye) Bronemann, 72, passed away on February 1, 2022, in Monticello of cancer surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held February 12, 2022, from 12:00- 4:00 PM at the Veterans Hall on First Street in Monticello, Iowa.

Gary was born on September 29, 1949, the son of Don and Theresa (Ehlts) Bronemann. Gary served in the Vietnam war, receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart in 1970.  He worked at Energy Mfg. and in the (Family Foods and Fareway Stores) until he retired. He enjoyed collecting memorabilia, going to Casinos, and listening to Rock and Roll music.  You always knew Gary was around, as you could hear him whistling.  He will be missed. 

He is survived by his brothers, Larry (Shady) and Ellie, James (Katie) and Mike, and sisters, Judy Leggett, Jean Ann Grimm, and Penny (Dean) Ehrisman, many nieces and nephews, and great neighbors, Steve Quinn and Kay Junion. 

Gary was preceded in death by parents, sisters Marje and Susie, and brothers Bob and Don.
