Samuel E. Hague
I lived across the hall from Sam and always enjoyed his smile and his positive disposition.
I (we) new Sammy as a young man on Katherine Street in New Castle, Pa. who was a great guy who took part in the numerous activities that the 20 other guys in the neighborhood ranging from playing football ( that would be the Katherine St. Cougars), playing basketball in the coldest of conditions, golfing, sled riding, playing home run derby, and boxing; with most of these activities occurring in the Katherine Street area. We did gathered almost daily and it was not unusual to be out until 10pm or so; particularly in basketball season. No matter the time, our parents never had to worry about our whereabouts and obviously there were no cell phones to trouble them or us. Yep, we learned to have fun, communicate with one another face to face, and settle disputes in an appropriate manner. Great skills that I'm sure Sammy carried with him to college, workplace, and family life. Sam was also a member of the first cross-country team at Neshannock HS in New Castle, Pa. where we missed going to States by one team place. I believe he then was a member of the 69' or 70' cross teams that captured State Titles. He was a kind, gentle young man with an internal drive to excel at whatever he chose to do. I am so happy to hear of his success in Iowa both in the workplace and the time he spent with family. I know you are dearly missed by your family based on words I read about you. May God's love and blessings continue to be with your family even as they grieve for a special person!! Paul Cameron P.S. Know too that if we can get enough of the Cougars in Heaven and reunite with you, I suspect a football game would be in order with hugs and love shared by all.
