Robert C. Gignac
Robert C. Gignac, 89, passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2022. For the last few years, this (self-proclaimed) ‘grumpy old man’ was living independently, defying COVID, but a recent stroke changed that scene. He grew up in Berkley, MI, was married to his love, Barbara for 62 years, raised a family there, then hit the road after 30 years of working with the US Postal Service. Dad enjoyed being commander of his RV, traveling the USA with Mom for over 25 years, seeing many wonderful sights and making friends along the way.
He is survived by his sister Muriel (Genrich); children James (Lisa) Gignac, Timothy (Patti) Gignac, Joy Gignac, and Lori Fisher; grandchildren Zachary Gignac and Emily Gignac; Martha (Gary) Hutchinson, Randy (Liz) Gignac, Robby Gignac; Ian Nicoll; John Fisher, Christopher Fisher, Heather Fisher (Chad Cariker), and Kenneth Fisher; and great-grandchildren Aurora Gignac, Alecsaunder Hutchinson; Damon Fisher, Shane Cariker and Mason Cariker; as well as a whole passel of relatives spread across the U.S. and Canada.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Amos Gignac, wife Barbara (Srebernak), brother Jerry, and grandson Matthew Fisher.
Cremation rites were accorded by Iowa Cremation.
