Marjorie Ann Bowman

Marjorie Ann Bowman, 82, passed away August 4, 2022 at Independence Village in Waukee, Iowa.

Marjorie was born on July 10, 1940 to Raymond and Lena (Sutton) Korb in Hebron Nebraska. She graduated from Hebron High School in 1958 and attended Omaha Business School after graduation. She married Gene Bowman in June 1959 and they remained together for 63 years until her death.

Gene joined the Air Force leading to years of travel and excitement. Their first home was in Lincoln, Nebraska where their first daughter, Diane, was born. Their next home was at Itazuke AFB in Japan where they experienced a lifestyle very different. The next move was to Bergstrom AFB near Austin, Texas where their youngest daughter, Christine, was born. They then spent a brief period in Illinois before Gene went to Korea.

After returning to civilian life they continued to move. First to Garden City, Kansas, then to Norfolk, Nebraska and then to North Platte, Nebraska. After retirement their final move was to West Des Moines, Iowa.

Marjorie loved all of the travel especially when we could take a grandchild along. Marjorie liked to read, visit with people, and listen to George Strait. But, most of all she loved family.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Korb and Lena Kutlas, step- mother Alberta Korb, step-father Jack Kutlas and brother-in-law William (Bill) Bowman.

Marjorie is survived by her husband Gene Bowman, her two daughters Diane (Russell) Peterson and Christine McGuire. Grandchildren Adam (Amber) Peterson, Jenny Peterson, Jason Bowman and Elizabeth McGuire and Great Grandsons Henry Peterson and Frankie Peterson. She is survived by her sister Diane (Gary) Dahlheim,  sister-in-law Anne Bowman Lentfer and nieces Wendy (Damon) Hart, Suzanne (Joe) Johns, Laurie (Jared) Pherson, Jenna (Chris) Howell and the children of the nieces.

Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate Marjorie's life and to say their farewells. Marjorie will be interred in the Veteran's Cemetery near Van Meter, Iowa.
