June Kay Reed

June Kay Reed, 82, of West Liberty, Iowa, died Friday, August 5, 2022. 

She was born on May 30th, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Everett and Virginia Holst.  She was the oldest of three girls.  June attended West Liberty high school, where she graduated with her diploma.  She worked at Kraft Oscar Meyer where she retired from.  She was married to John Templeman in 1959 and had two sons, Michael (Mike) and Mitchell (Mitch) Templeman.  They divorced and she later remarried Albert (Al) Reed on October 23rd, 1993. 

June loved chihuahuas, country western music, traveling, and most importantly, her family.  Al and June traveled for many years in their motorhome with their chihuahua, Bambi.  Anyone who knew June, knew that she was a kind soul, who was always willing to do anything, for anyone. 

June was survived by her husband, Albert Reed of West Liberty, IA; sons, Mike (Linda) Templeman of West Liberty, IA and Mitch Templeman of West Liberty, IA; step-children, Ginny (Edwin) Rodriguez of Howell, NJ, John Reed of Chesapeake, VA, and Tom (Kristie) Reed of Monterey, TN; grandchildren, Jaimie Mieretto of Phoenix, AZ, Marcus (Alex) Templeman of Phoenix, AZ, and Taryn (Tanner) Arndt of Platteville, WI; her only great-grandchild, Elliott Arndt of Platteville, WI; sisters, Gail Schmutzler of Carlsbad, CA and Jill (Gregory) Zeigler of Santa Fe, NM; and numerous other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be no service held, per June's wishes. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to Simpson Memorial Home.
