Chester Bruce Perkey

Chester Bruce Perkey passed in his home Wednesday September 22, 2021.  Chester “Bruce” Perkey was a spirited man and left this earth in the same way he lived his life, on his own terms.  We pray he will now find peace in joining his beloved friend and partner in life, Karen Rae Perkey whom he missed deeply after her passing.  Her loss affected him greatly while he also struggled with rapidly declining health over the last 2 years.
He leaves behind two daughters, Dejah T. Roman and Tara D. Perkey, one step-daughter, Billie Jo Tucker, seven grandchildren, many close friends and a lasting impression upon those whom he encountered.  Bruce lived a full and active life, traveled all over the country, and was known for his own personal sense of humor, intense opinions, and a very serious passion for Nintendo and politics.
We will honor his memory and lay him to rest October 17th with a private final breakfast for family and closest friends.  This will be followed by a small graveside service at the Marysville Cemetery at 12pm where he will be laid to rest and reunited with his loving companion, Karen Rae Perkey, as he had requested.  Those who would like to join us for this service are welcome.
Bruce was a simple man who also enjoyed reading and believed in the power of knowledge.  A donation in his name may be made to the local Knoxville Public Library for those looking to honor him or his family with a gift.
