Norma Fay Hansen was born on July 13, 1941 to Charles and Leona (Smith) Etter in rural Lucas County, Iowa.  She was united in marriage to James Hansen on January 11, 1958 in Newton, Iowa. Together they ran a construction business in Iowa & Colorado for their entire marriage. She loved just taking off and driving through the Colorado mountains, and in the fall they enjoyed elk hunting together. She also loved visiting her family in Minnesota and fishing.

She was one of the first ladies to join the Optimists Club in Colorado and served as Distinguished President of the Northglenn Evening Optimists for 2 years, and the New Horizon’s Optimist Club for 1 year.  Norma enjoyed gardening & flowers, baking and made the best peanut brittle & Christmas candies and cookies.  She turned her skills into a business “Sweet Cheeks” that she ran in Colorado.  During the years she crocheted blankets for all of her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Norma loved spending time with and taking care of her family.

Left to cherish Norma’s memory is her loving husband, Jim; children Peggy (Steven) Schilling of North Liberty IA, Mark (Amy) Hansen of Oxford IA, Tracy (Kay) Hansen of West Branch IA, and Dennis (Dawn Johnson) Hansen of Brush Co.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one brother Dale (Sue) Etter of Talmoon MN.
