Obituary for Carolyn Lea Richardson

Carolyn Lea Richardson of West Des Moines, Iowa was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who died November 30, 2021, at the age of 77. Carolyn worked several years for Valley Appliance in West Des Moines until her father-in-law Gene Laverrenz closed the business. She then went on to work as a secretary/bookkeeper for a few other companies until she retired.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Forrest Richardson (2009), father; Cliff Gardiner (1969) and mother; Thelma Gardiner (2005). She is survived by brother; Cliff Gardiner, Jr. (Connie), daughters; Shelly Weller (Todd) and Kayce Wheeler (Scott), five grandchildren; Jessica, Katie, Raelynn, Taylor, Christopher, eight great-grandchildren, and her partner and friend Bob Zuehlk. Carolyn enjoyed her farms, horses, every other stray animal she could find, crocheting and dancing. More importantly, her bottomless cup of coffee.

Inurnment will be held 9:30 a.m. December 9, 2021, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa 50003.
