E. Marilyn Kolosik
Elsie Marilyn Kolosik, 85, of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 8th, 2021, at the Villages of Marion. Per her wishes, she was cremated and a private family viewing was held. A memorial service for family and friends of Marilyn and her husband Vance, who preceded her in death in November of 2019, will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories 1:00 pm Saturday, June 5th 2021. Entrusted with the arrangements is Iowa Cremation.
Marilyn was born on March 6, 1936 in Rose Hill, Iowa, the daughter of Harry O. (Doc) and Zelpha Mae (Phillips) Fowler. She graduated from Millersburg High school, and later married the love of her life Vance on June 2, 1956 in North English, Iowa. Marilyn and Vance shared 63 years together, much of it spent in Springville, Iowa, in their garden and serving their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her children Dan Kolosik, Janene (David) Hunt, Melinda (Scott) Owen, Kristyn (John) Ryan, and Lyle (Becky) Kolosik, 12 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; two brothers, Ivan and Jerrold Fowler; her sister Betty Grimm; and two infant brothers Gene and Dean Fowler.
