Donald David Greubel
Donald David Greubel was born on March 15th, 1952 and passed away on May 13th, 2021 at the age of 69. He was a husband of 39 years to Debra Barton-Greubel and a father to Ashley Hughes (Brad), Michael Greubel (Sierra), and Willie Jo Greubel, and grandfather to Lexie, Cash, Grey, Gracelynn, and Murphy.
He was born in Des Moines to Wilfred & Dorothy (Putz) Greubel and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970. He went on to retire from General Mills after 35 years where he punched the holes in Cheerios, or so he told his kids.
Donnie didn't know a stranger and was a genuine, one-of-a-kind man, friend, husband, father and grandfather. He had some of the wildest fish stories, but often caught the fish to back up his tales. Donnie was a straight shooter when it came to hunting and taught his skills to his children who he loved to take deer hunting.
The family of Donnie invites you to a Celebration of Life for him at their family home, 2814 Cumming Road Van Meter, IA 50261, on Saturday, June 12th from 1:00-5:00pm. They would like to encourage you to come with a favorite story to share in a book they will be putting together in his memory.
