Edward “Ed” Coleman
Edward “Ed” Coleman, 70, of Walker, Iowa lost his battle to cancer on Thursday, June 17th, 2021, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Per his wishes he has been cremated, and will be laid to rest in Muenster, Texas at a later date.
An informal memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, July 3rd from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Monti Community Center in Buchanan County: 2854 Washington Avenue, Coggon, Iowa 52218. The family will be remembering Roberta Coleman, Ed’s mother, as well.
Ed was born June 11, 1951, to Dale and Roberta Coleman. He graduated in 1969 from North Linn Community School. Ed was a Vietnam veteran who served two plus years of honorable duty from 1970 to 1973.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Katie (Kenneth) Grewing; grandchildren, Emma, Nate, Aubrey, Camden, and Brennan all of Muenster, Texas; his siblings, Jim (Judy), Leo, Larry (Kim), Don, Rose Kane, Vince, and Kevin (Jodie); aunt, Betty (Gerald) Dooley; uncle, Bill Monaghan; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and the rest of the Coleman/Monaghan Clan.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joe, parents, and grandparents.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Iowa City VA Hospital, Keystone Home Health, Above and Beyond Hospice, and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for their tender, and loving care provided to Ed.
