Nancy Sue Franklin

Nancy Sue Franklin, 67, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on July 18, 2021, due to a tough fight with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. Friday, July 23rd at Saylorville Event Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Born on April 6, 1954, and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Donald Frey and Luella Frey. Nancy graduated from Hoover High School in 1972. Nancy owned a cleaning business called Spic N Span. Nancy cleaned doctors offices, homes, and businesses for many years up until she no longer could.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Donald Frey and Luella Frey, and her oldest sister Judy Willis (Frey). She is survived by her sister Carolyn (Mark) Bradley; two sons, Eddie (Summer) Horn, Ryan Horn, and daughter, Jenny (Kevin) Cline; brother-in-law Rich Willis; seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Nancy was a lot like her mother. She loved the same things, bowling, working in her garden, canning, fishing, camping, and spending time with her friends and family.

Special heartfelt thanks to our family, relatives, friends, and neighbors for their support this past year. For their outstanding care, we would also like to thank Dr. Jawa and his team at Mission Blood Cancer Center and Bright Kavanagh House (EveryStep).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s honor can be made to Bright Kavanagh House (EveryStep), located at 3000 Easton Blvd., Des Moines, Iowa 50317.
