LaQuesta H. Doolin, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 13, at the New City Church (5335 Midway Drive NW, Cedar Rapids). Inurnment will take place at a later date at Linwood Cemetery. Date to be announced.
LaQuesta was born October 13, 1935, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of Herschel D. Sr. and Vera Pickens. As an adult, LaQuesta has been a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids. While working at Collins for many years she also obtained a Masters Degree in Education. She retired from Collins in 1965 and has spent her remaining years as an avid church participant and volunteer worker and spreading the word of God.
She is survived by her step children, Leticia Doolin of New Jersey; Nolan Doolin, Jr. and Josett Doolin both of Cedar Rapids and many step grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her significant other, Donald Berns of Cedar Rapids.
LaQuesta was preceded in death by her parents and Harriet Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, LaQuesta asks that memorials are directed to her New City Church, that they can continuer her love for God.
