Dennis LeRoy Ellefson
Dennis LeRoy Ellefson, 80, of Marion, Iowa passed away of melanoma of the brain on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House. Per his request, there will be no service.
Dennis was born on August 3, 1940 the son of Elmer and Grace Ellefson of Dawson, Minnesota. He graduated from Dawson High School in 1958 and attended Minneapolis Business College. He married Sharon Keifer on December 19, 1959. From working in the insurance industry to owning a sporting good store and a fishing resort, Dennis was always adventurous. Golfing was a huge part of his life, and he loved the outdoors and the telling of stories.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers Robert and Howard Ellefson.
Left to honor Dennis’ memories are his wife of 61 years, Sharon, their daughter Jill Henningsen and grandsons, Spencer and Haven Henningsen. Dennis could be found at his grandson’s sports activities, year round, where many knew him as papa.
The family will hold a memorial at a later date.
