Ronald Arthur May, 78, of Anamosa, Iowa passed away peacefully December 6, 2021.
Per his wishes, he has been cremated. Services will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation is assisting with arrangements.
Ron was born June 6, 1943, in Martelle, Iowa to Floyd and Vivian (Stevens) May. After he graduated from Martelle high school in 1962, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life Virginia Johnston on June 26, 1992, in Stone City, Iowa. He worked for Horn Automotive and Welty Trucking of Onslow. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Martelle Fire Station and was a member of the Cedar Valley Street Rod Club.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, tinkering with his model trains, and visiting the Great Smoky Mountains. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his wife Virginia; children Annette (Steve) Teymer, Lisa (Bob) Heasty, and James (Jessye) Brink Jr; eleven grandchildren, eight teen grandchildren; siblings Bob May, and Rose Millis; along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Charles (JoAnn) May.
