Lillian E. Ford

Lillian (”Skip”) E. Ford, of Le Mars, IA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30, 2021. At Lillians' request there will be no service. She will be cremated and buried at a later date with her husband, Franklin Golladay in New Market, Virginia.

Lillian was born to Robert and Martha (Knupp) Burkett on July 2, 1924, in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She married Franklin B. Golladay on July 2, 1942, in Rockville, Maryland. Franklin died in a trucking accident in New Jersey on February 25, 1958. Lillian later went on to marry Royce Ford and they later divorced.

While living in Le Mars, Lillian was a nanny to several families. She loved those families as if they were her own. She also cleaned many homes and was immensely proud of her meticulous cleaning skills. She was well known for her famous potato salad, a recipe which nobody has been able to completely duplicate. She will be missed for her “sass” and not sugar coating anything, but most importantly, the love she had for all her children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind 5 children: Deane (Larry) Olson, Crozet, VA; Steven (Linda) Golladay, Le Mars, IA; David Golladay, Webster City, IA; Terry (Robin) Golladay, Kamrar, IA; Todd (Kris) Golladay, Webster City, IA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Franklin, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, and 1 great grandchild.

In lieu of memorials, please donate, in her honor, to her favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children Hospital. She loved knowing she was helping children.
