Diana Kay Thompson
Diana Kay Thompson, the daughter of Bill and Irene Calland, was born May 5, 1951, and left us to be with her parents, son, and sister on August 10, 2021. She attended East High School and graduated in 1969. She also graduated from Grand View College and Iowa State University.
On October 25, 1975, Diana was united in marriage to Richard J. Thompson. She was a mother to Mark and Jeffery Thompson.
Diana worked for the state of Iowa for thirty-five years. She had a wide variety of interests and joys. She enjoyed music, dancing, water skiing, Ragbrai, auto racing of all kinds, and raced some herself. She brought joy to anyone she knew or met. She also had many hobbies and interests.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Irene Calland; Mark Thompson; and her sister Debbie. She is survived by her husband Richard Thompson; her son Jeffery Thompson; her sister Denise; her brother Jim; grandchildren James, Andrew (Cheyenne), and Michael; great grandchildren Madilynn; and many nieces and nephews.
