Edward Lee Parsons

Edward Lee Parsons, 85 of Audubon, Iowa, died October 23rd, 2020 at the Friendship Home in Audubon.  Edward was born September 13, 1935 to John and Hazel Parsons in Lewis, Iowa.  He graduated from Exira High School and then joined the United States Navy.  Edward was stationed in Hawaii, the Philippines and served in the Korean conflict from 1954-1958.  
 
Edward married Sandra Lee Parsons (Johnson) on December 14th, 1958 at the Exira Lutheran Church.  Ed was employed at Cam Ross Sign Company and later owned his own business, Midwest Sandblasters in Audubon.  Ed was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Jaycees and Audubon Bass Club.  Ed and Sandy had three children, Janell (Randy) Bulver of Ankeny, Jon (Crystal) Parsons of Atlantic, and Jamie (Jim) Meyer of Altoona.  Ed was blessed with eight grandchildren, Erin Bouda, Robbi Wittrock, Riley Monahan, Emily Majerus, Allison Holmes, Mandy Miller, Levi Miller and Christina Miller.  Ed also hadfourteen great-grandchildren.  
 
Ed and Sandy enjoyed camping, golf and watching sports.  Ed enjoyed trapping and hunting.  Ed was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many fishing trips with his buddies.  Ed also loved playing cards and shooting pool.  Ed especially enjoyed teasing his many grandchildren.  Ed was a huge animal lover, and his family had many pets throughout the years.
 
Ed is survived by his wife, Sandy, his three children,grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents John and Hazel Parsons, his sisters, Lenora Parsons and Mert Jones.  
 
Funeral Service will be Thursday, November 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa with a luncheon to follow.

Inurnment will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5th at the Iowa Veteran Cemetery in Adel.
