Carla and Family: Our condolences to you and the family. Dan was such a nice guy who will be missed by so many. He was so good to the Greco's back in the day. Neighbors don't get any better than the Taylors! Our thoughts and prayers are with you during the sad time and beyond. With love, Jeff and Lisa

I got to know Dan through his loving wife, Carla. I always thought Dan was a lighthearted and giving person. I knew Dan loved the outdoors and was committed to family and providing for them. He was a very real person and practiced what he believed. He will be missed.

No words can really fill this void, but I wanted to let Carla, the family, and especially Bob, Kevin and Tom know that the Detweiler family is sending our thoughts and prayers. Just thinking of Danny makes me smile and reminds me of his easy and fun nature. Just making visual contact with Danny would always generate immediate mutual smiles and appreciation for our past and many memories - no matter how much time had elapsed since seeing each other. Greg and I have always thought of Danny, Kevin, and Bob as brothers in life - and I know Greg is devastated at the loss of such a fun and dear friend. Let's never forget Danny's amazing personality. He left a permanent smile on our hearts and in our minds. Stay strong! We will never forget this wise guy!

I have so many memories of Dan, both from school & times when he worked @ Hy-Vee. During school Dan was always making people smile or laugh, even when you didn't want to or if you were upset about something, he found a way to make you smile & forget your problems for a little bit. He could have people laughing or smiling & on really Good day, he could drive the teachers crazy, telling jokes in English class or in a class assembly, when they were trying to talk or as he went flying down the hall, bumping into everyone, jumping down flights of stairs, trying to get to class before the bell rang & door closed.. At work, he had a way of making everyone smile there to & make the customers feel good..I remember He & Clancy would take turns always trying to out do each other in helping the most people with their bags during a snow storm... or when he started to sing "Only the Good Die Young" when it came on the raido, as he grabbed a broom, started dancing & singing & had everyone in tears from laughing so much, having a little old lady ask me if I knew him & I said yes he was a classmate..But now you can sing it for real Dan because you are gone way too soon & way too young...You have given us so much & we will never forget you. HEAVEN has gained a special angel & I know you will be making everyone in Heaven smile there just as you did here on earth. So Rest in Peace Dan

I was a high school classmate. Played football together. I think maybe sophomore year we periodically played positions next to each other. I would see Dan every five years or so at reunions. Always the same memory. He would come up with a big smile on his face. Same as his picture here, but bigger. Always something funny to say. Great guy.

Hard to find the words that will come close to describing what a good man Dan Taylor was. He was a humble human being, kind and gentle to all, and never spoke harshly about anyone. His laughter was contagious and his smile accentuated the twinkle in his eyes. We had lots of genuine fun. I regret drifting apart from Dan. Our mutual friends referred to him as Danny Boy, or sometimes just Taylor. I preferred Dan the Man, not sure why but it fit him. I was lucky to call him my friend. To Carla, Joe, Pete, Sarah, Tom, Marie, Bob, Kevin and the extended families my heartfelt condolences.

To Carla and family, my sincere sympathy to all. Dan and I both started at Cedarapids Inc. in early 1988 in the sales department. We were young, adventurous and always looking for a good time….and a cold brew!! The great times we had in the office, company picnic’s, sales meetings, ConExpo’s in Las Vegas and even The Bungalow, all bring back pleasant memories. So many ex-Cedarapids Inc. folks have reached out to me this week sharing stories we all had with Dan over the years. These all brought back great memories followed by a few tears. So many great personal and professional qualities in Dan we will all talk about for years to come. RIP my friend. You will be missed by all.

Knew Dan from the old Bungalow and Werni's Tap days. Always a smile on his face and "words of wisdom" to share with everyone. Most recently, I would run in to him on B Avenue while walking my dogs and we would reminisce about the old days. RIP Dan...

To Carla and family I offer my deepest sympathies to you all. The world has lost a truly kind & wonderful man way too soon. I have known Dan since high school. While I haven't seen Dan as much in the last few years, I have always considered him a good friend. What I will miss the most is his sense of humor, sincere kindness, great smile & his heartfelt hugs. No matter what kind of day I was having, seeing Dan made me smile immediately. He'd call me Jules & give me a great big hug & make even the worst day so much better. I always enjoyed his company whether we were having a beer at Werni's Tap way back when or seeing him at the Hy-Vee. RIP my friend. I will miss you terribly.

We will never understand, why. Why such beautiful people like Dan are taken from us too soon. Please know our thoughts and hearts are with each of you at this most difficult time. We feel so very blessed to have shared so many wonderful years with Dan and the Taylor family. We have been enriched by his open heart, kindness and great humor. Not to mention - his wonderful imitations of "The Lion" and "Wolf Man Jack" around the open flames of the campfire. God's love and great peace to the entire Taylor family. Much love, Mark, Alison, Logan and Eva Winn

Ephesians 4:7 = "To each one of us grace has been given." Hebrews 4:16 - "Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Grace was freely offered to me by Dan and Carla Taylor. No matter what time I showed up at their house, I was welcomed. While Dan and I never had lengthy discussions, I always felt he considered me a friend. His presence comforted me, as I felt accepted without judgement. He always had a welcoming smile . I will miss him. "Dear Jesus, thank you for Dan's presence in my life. Thank you for making Carla strong in you. She has taught me to say "Oh, well." She faces everything as the will of God, and teaches me to accept what I receive with hope and gratitude. Bless her Lord with your invincible joy and your peace which passes all understanding. Amen
