My grandfather was all those things and more. He taught me everything a boy needed to know to become a man. There was a strength in his soul that I believe he passed on to me and my sons. No matter what the world throws at you have a plan. We would be working on something and I’d get frustrated he’d say “Bubby calm down, if your forcing it your doing it wrong”. That phrase among others stuck out most to me because at the time I thought he was just talking about the task at hand when in fact he was teaching me a lesson of remaining calm under pressure, remaining calm in a situation that is posing difficulties. You can’t force anything in life and expect it to work. That lesson has helped me in many aspects as a father, husband, firefighter. Some people never get to meet their hero, well I sat with my hero every chance I got, I walked in the woods and hunted with my hero. My hero taught me skills I’ll never forget. I will continue to live my life and pass on my skills as my papa taught me. Rest easy Papa, bubby has it from here. Until we meet again. I love you
Everyday missing you. I go on your site just to see your face. My way of saying, hi Daddy:(
I miss you so much Daddy. This whole thing seems like a bad dream and you will come back to us. I love you and hurt so bad. You said," I'm not gonna make back on this one" and I said yeah I know Daddy.... I had no clue how much it was gonna hurt. My children are hurting, my mom is hurting. We are lost with out you. You are and always will be the captain to our ship. I pray we find safe harbors soon.
