LaVon Eugene Trumblee

Lavon Eugene Trumblee, age 91, of Farmersburg died Tuesday, January 07, 2020, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, IA.  A celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 18th at Faith Lutheran Church, 155 Boyson Rd, Marion, IA.  Interment will be at a later date at Lamont, IA. 

LaVon was born June 29th, 1928 to Roy and Anna (Tomashaska) Trumblee at Lamont, Iowa.  He married Mary Ellen Rippon in 1945 at Strawberry point, Iowa.  To this union of 25 years, 2 sons were born, Lonnie and Steven.  They moved to Council Bluffs, IA in 1964, where he worked as a truck driver and attended Iowa Western Community College receiving a degree as a tool and die maker.

In 1977 he married Donna Leas (Krambeer) of Luana, IA.  LaVon worked for many years as a field tile contractor in Luana, IA.  They owned and operated a Robo Car Wash and gas station at Monona for several years as well as a mobile home court in Harpers Ferry.    They enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Arizona.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in the outdoors.

He is survived by 1 brother, Alfred (Dell) Trumblee of Cedar Rapids, 2 sons, Lonnie Trumblee and Steven Trumblee (Maycale), of Farmersburg, 1 step daughter, Linda (Robert) VanWey, of Marion, 2 step sons, Jerry Leas (Conneye) and Steven (Denise) Leas of Cedar Rapids.  2 grandsons, David (Kristie)Trumblee of Las Vegas, Dan (Angie) Trumblee of Omaha, 7 step grandchildren, Brenda Strong, Brent (Christie) Vanwey, James (Tasha) Leas, Justin (Megan) Leas, and Lindsey (Brittany) Kuba, Janelle (Thad) Burton, Candace Schlurr, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Raymond, Duane and John Trumblee and 1 sister, Beverly Kraus.
