Scott Alan Grimes

Scott Alan Grimes, 51, passed away February 21, 2020 at MercyOne Hospice in Johnston surrounded by his loving family

Scott was born June 9, 1968 in Perry, Iowa to Gerald Grimes and Charla Baker Grimes. He graduated from Woodward-Granger High School in 1987. He worked for Compressor Controls Corp in Urbandale and Owens Minor in Grimes.

Scott was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and was able to watch them win the Super Bowl. He liked playing his guitar with his brother and researching anything and everything on his computer.

His favorite pastime was being outdoors in nature whether traveling with Brandy and Willow or camping and hiking or sitting by a campfire. Family was always welcome to join in.

He is survived by his wife, Brandy; precious daughter, Willow, who he adored; his parents; siblings Brian Grimes, Woodward; Marci (Larry) Santi, Johnston; Jason (Samantha) Grimes, Des Moines; one niece, three nephews; mother-in-law, Diane Retman; former sister-in-law, Lisa Grimes; aunts, uncles and special friends who have supported him through the years.

Preceding him in death were his sister, Jennifer Ann; niece, Alexandria; grandparents Charles and Mavis Baker and Ed and Delores Ingersoll.

Scott’s wishes for his family was to “carry on, stay close, love one another and help each other.” Per his wishes, there will be a cremation with no service followed by a private family burial at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
